About Send
What are destination tags and when do I need them?
A destination tag is an additional identifier required by some recipients (like exchanges, payment processors, or businesses) to properly credit incoming payments. Centralized exchanges (CEXs) use destination tags because they have one XRPL address that serves thousands of customers - the tag tells them which customer account to credit. If you're sending to an exchange and forget the destination tag, your funds may be lost or not credited to your account. Always check if the recipient requires a destination tag and enter it exactly as provided. Personal wallets typically don't require destination tags.
How do XRPL send transactions work?
When you send tokens on XRPL, your wallet signs the transaction locally with your private key, then broadcasts it to the XRPL validator network. The validators reach consensus (80%+ agreement) and the transaction finalizes in 3-5 seconds directly on the blockchain. XPMarket only provides a user-friendly interface - we do NOT hold custody of your funds, execute transactions on your behalf, or have any ability to freeze or reverse transactions. The transaction is fully decentralized between your wallet and the XRP Ledger blockchain. Standard XRPL transaction fees apply (fractions of $0.01), and some wallet providers may charge their own separate fees.
How can I protect myself from scams?
NEVER send tokens if someone asks for 'verification' payments, you receive unsolicited transfer requests, or promises seem too good to be true. Always verify: recipient address is correct (transactions are IRREVERSIBLE), token issuer authenticity using XRPL explorer, destination tag matches exchange instructions, and website/social links are legitimate. Red flags include fake stablecoins, urgent pressure to send immediately, requests for your wallet secret/seed, or spam transactions with suspicious memos. Remember: Keep your account secret secure - it's the only way someone can access your funds. No legitimate service will ever ask you to send tokens for verification purposes.
Is XPMarket safe to use?
All transactions on XPMarket are executed directly on the XRP Ledger blockchain. XPMarket does not have custody of any funds - we only provide a user-friendly interface to interact with the decentralized network. Always do your own research (DYOR) before sending any tokens. XPMarket does not provide financial advice and only verifies basic project information such as website and social media links.
