About XRPI
Volatility Shares XRP ETF (XRPI) is a futures-based XRP exchange-traded fund issued by Volatility Shares and listed on Nasdaq. It seeks one-to-one exposure to XRP through regulated futures contracts rather than holding the token itself, so there is no leverage and no daily reset. XRPI launched on May 22, 2025. Because it rolls futures contracts as they expire, its return can drift from spot XRP over time.
Volatility Shares XRP ETF was the first US fund to offer one-to-one XRP exposure through regulated futures. It is frequently mistaken for a leveraged product because its issuer also runs a 2x fund, but XRPI itself targets a plain 1x return with no daily reset.
Because XRPI holds futures rather than XRP, its return can drift from spot XRP as contracts are rolled, particularly when futures trade above spot. Now that spot XRP ETFs exist at a fraction of the cost, its expense ratio is hard to justify for long-term holding unless you specifically want futures-based exposure.

Frequently Asked Questions
XRPI is Volatility Shares XRP ETF, a futures-based XRP ETF from Volatility Shares listed on Nasdaq. It aims to match XRP's price one-for-one using regulated futures contracts instead of holding the token, so there is no leverage involved.
XRPI charges an annual expense ratio of 0.95%. The fee is taken out of the fund's assets automatically, so you do not pay it separately. Lower expense ratios matter most for long-term holders.
No. XRPI tracks XRP through futures contracts rather than holding the token, so you are exposed to XRP's price without the fund custodying any XRP. Rolling those contracts can cause small differences from spot XRP.
Buying XRPI gives you XRP price exposure inside a brokerage account, with no wallet, private keys or crypto exchange needed, but you pay the fund's annual fee and can only trade during market hours. Buying XRP directly on the XRP Ledger means you own the asset itself, can self-custody it, trade 24/7 and use it across the XRPL ecosystem.
That depends on your goals and risk tolerance. XRP is a volatile asset, and ETF structures add their own considerations such as fees and, for leveraged funds, daily rebalancing effects.
